Teaching in Aqabar

Is it possible for a couple to live, work and save money, while teaching in AQABAR on JD2500 per month?

Re: Teaching in Aqabar

That is a very good income for Jordan.  We try to keep our exspenses around 1000 - 1500JDS a month, for a family of five.  But, we do not have rent.  So, it will depend on how much your exspense for rent is.  I hear that electricity bills are much higher there b/c you need to have the a/c on constantly.

Thanks for that. There would be no rent, but electricity & water would have to be paid for, though.

Still, it sounds like it would be possible to save money on that joint salary.

Re: Teaching in Aqabar

Hi i've lived in Aqaba for more than 10years its really quite place and if you really want to live there you shouldn't be huge fan of megacities .
About the 2500JD it depends on many factors , and the first place your style of spending and it's great to not pay for rent , food isn't that expensive and it's a very limited society in Aqaba and this will save you good amount of money ! But in general i guess yes you can save some money If you don't have extra expenses to pay.
Regards
