Need advice on accomodation in Saint Julian's
hi,
I want to try and live 6 months in Malta before I move in.
So I decided to rent an apartment there.
I found what looks like a good deal with the site SaintJulians.net, but I am not sure if the location is the best, and if the prices are reasonable for Malta.
Is Espinola bay really LGBT friendly?
Can someone help before I book 6 months?

Hi Dubliner ,
Spinola Bay is a very good location ! I'm not sure what LGBT means but if you give a few more details here or by e-mail I can comment on your specific deal.
If you want to meet Expats here go and check our site expatsmalta.com . We meet everfy Friday at , sometimes even at a place on Spinola Bay.
And you have an Irish pub there too -)))
Regards
Ricky

Re: Need advice on accomodation in Saint Julian's
Hi Dubliner ,
it certainly looks reasonable for a short term stay and is definitly in a nice area. I walk past there every morning so I will have a look at the building later later.
600 € per month seems just about ok - especially if it includes TV and electricity.
If not cable TV+internet comes to around 50 € per month and electricity depends on how much you use the AC .So wouldn't be a problem over the winter.
The appartment is difficult to judge from the pics but seems ok for 1 or 2 folks and has a nice looking terrace.
I would say go for it if it is available but consider 3 months for the beginning.!
Regards
Ricky

Re: Need advice on accomodation in Saint Julian's
Generally Malta is friendly towards the gay community. There are always the issues regarding religion and same sex marriage but those are legal matters. I will not tell you that there aren't any homophobic persons, but there are active lesbian and gay groups around.
In St Julian's you will find most of the clubs and some are specific for gay individuals and couples.
