Applying for residency & family reunification

Hello all! I'm new here. I have a few questions but feel like you need the backstory in order to answer them so bare with me for a sec.
I am a Dane who immigrated to America when I was 8. I married and American (in the U.S.) 8 years ago and we are now moving back to Denmark along with our 4 children, all of whom are under 8yrs. Me and our kids have Danish Citizenship, passports, etc. My husband does not.
However, we have received a job offer from my uncle who owns a greenhouse company in Odense and we already have a house lined up for us to live in. My husband starts next Spring giving us ample time to get everything we need in order. We are trying to work out everything that we need to do as far as family reunification is concerned as well as residency and work permits so that when we get there we don't have to stress about it and he can get to work right away.
My questions are these:
1. How do we go about getting the work permit from over here in the States? I've heard it can take months to get approval and we need him to start working as soon as we get settled (although we do plan on taking a month after we get there to relax, get settled, and get to know our new country... well, new to my husband and kids. I've been back many times since I immigrated to the U.S.)

2. Do you fill out the family reunification paperwork from over here in the States as well? Or do we wait until we get over there and he is working?

3. Does having a job and a home help with the family reunification process?

4. Do you foresee any other problems or is there anything else I should be concerned with that I haven't listed? I have a phone interview with the Danish Consulate in NYC next week but I'd love anyone's input if at all possible.

I know Denmark is notoriously difficult to immigrate to so I'm worried for my husband. This is a fantastic job opportunity and I so desperately want to come home to DK. But I also know that the immigration laws have relaxed as of May 25 much to our delight! (hurray for no point system anymore and for the reduction in the bank collateral for family reunification!)
Thanks in advance:)
