Nairobi- cost of eduction and cost of living

Hi all smile

I have received an offer for sales & marekting position to be based at nairobi.

company will be providing- Furnished Accomodation, Car & Medical insurance for the family

Indian saving is extra

The local salary is around 45000 K shiling. family consist of wife, 11 year old daughter and 7 year old son. As I understand cost of education is very high?

My first question with company provided residence/car/Medical + around 45000 KSH will be ok for a decent life style in Nairobi. If yes what will be average allocation on each of following expense head per month?

Light/Water/Electriticity/Utilities
Avg security exp societies
Schooling for 2 Children
School Transport
LPG Gas
Monthly Grocery/LPG/Other
domestic help/Servant
Recreation/club/entertainment/Hotel
Misc

Thanks & Regards

Re: Nairobi- cost of eduction and cost of living

Hi Himanshu,

45000 KSH pm would just about meet living expenses for 4 people. I'm not sure how much of an allowance you will get back in India but that might be attractive enough for you to consider the move.

Mmm, don't think so, this is about what some expats are paying for a house. Food can also be expensive, if I were you I'd rather be in India consulting for that salary.
