I am a travel nurse in the US and looking to purchase a home in Ecuador. Can anyone give me advice on the most affordable port to ship from in the US with a destination in Ecuador. Also what is a ROUGH idea of the cost for a 20ft and 40 ft container? Right now I don't have a clue if it makes sense to ship my furnishings (which are already in storage anyway) I am assuming that it is expensive to purchase furnishing/household goods there.

I don't know actual pricing of items, but I do know that my in-laws pay to have wooden furniture made from pictures in magazines over buy stuff at a store because it is cheaper.
