Constanta
Hi!
I am new here and I am desperate to talk to someone about Constanta. It seems we will be the only Expats there and it scares me.
Does anyone know more about the city specially housing?
I hope I hear from you soon!
Cheers,
Angie

Hi,Angie!
I wouldn't be so scared if I were you..
There are quite a few expats established there..Many locals do speak english..
I lived there for more than a year in mid 90s and it was rather cool.
The housing can be anything from very cheap in an commie appt block to very expensive(sea view) in new residential areas..
I would recommend a flat in the old part of the city..near the promenade and the abandoned casino.
Can u pls be more specific about your budget and other preferences.I still have friends there..if you wish,we can exchange info..I'm sure some of them can easily help you out in order to make your transition period going smooth.
Otherwise..It's Romania's second largest city and a big port.
There are quite a few resorts around the city, some with fine beaches and great potential for fun, most notorious being Mamaia which is considered "Ibiza of Romania"
There is a variety of restaurants, fast foods, supermarkets, and all sorts of amenities..some of Roamnia' finest wine is produced nearby(Murfatlar)
The local airport has few direct flights to Italy..
My guess is that you won't be dissapointed living there..
Pls ask!
Cheers

Re: Constanta
Hi Angie!
Constanta is the second largest city in Romania and you'll find many other expats there. Why are you scared? You should try to contact peoples working for foreign or big local companies to hear more about the expats life in Constanta.
If you want to have an image of what's going on there, check the follwoing link:

Re: Constanta
Thank you so much you two I am much more relaxed now. The website is great!
I had an relocation agent showing me around Constanta in March and it wasn't nice.
She told me all the time how alone I will feel there and that in Constanta is not much going on and it is too busy in Summer....... I also had coffee with a local women and even she was very negative about Constanta, specially the weather.
Our budget is.........good and I had a look at two apartments in the old part of the city but she didn't show me anything at new residential areas.
Is it possible to find something with sea view? Is there a website with rental properties?
Thank you so much for your help!!!!
Cheers, Angie
