Is this true that London needs more black workers?
Hello to all:
I was looking up to jobs in the UK for teaching and found that there are so many teaching positions available--according to gumtree.com, which link me to other sites. I saw more vacancies throughout the UK--but this really struck me odd. So I goggle in: does London need more teachers? The first hit that I recieved was "London needs more black teachers, police, and cab drivers", according to the London Standard. I was shocked but saw an opportunity.
So my questions is this: is this true that there are not many people of color working in these fields or are the listings of teaching vacancies exaggerated? What is the job market like now that the UK is moving out of recession (which may increasee the GBP). Tell me what you think....
Thanks for reading,

Are you sure it wasn't a joke in the newspaper? It is 'de riguere' that there is equal opportunity for everyone. When I was in England, everyone worked everywhere. I really don't think they are allowed, anymore, to discriminate. Anyway, there are so many cultures in England these days that you won't have any problem getting a job if one is available. You just have to have the qualifications for it.
