Giving birth in Quito
I will be moving to Quito in September to be with my fiancee and have my baby. I have a couple of questions I need answered...
-Where are the best hospitals in Quito?
-Does anyone know of a midwife?
-Do I gain any rights by marrying an Ecuadorian and having a baby in Ecuador? Residency?

Re: Giving birth in Quito
The best for giving birth on my opinion would be:
- Hospital Metropolitano
- Vozandes
- Clinica de la mujer
Marrying to an Ecuadorian will give you a citizenship very quickly... If you married outside of Ecuador, you'll have to register your marriage in the Registro Civil. I think with all the Cubans "marrying" here for papers, the Registro Civil does not register marriages with tourists in the first 75(?) or something like this days of stay, and it has a tendency to be even more restricted. Maybe it is better if you get a spouse visa in US.
