I have a lot of questios about schools for our dsughter. Also volleyball which is her passion. We have pets.is it hard to find rrntals with them? Also what are the things you would suggest to bring. What did you bring that you think was a waste to bring now?Thank you for any answers to any of my questions.

Re: new member moving to belize

There is a woman in this forum called "Wealthships", it would be good to ask her.

I am not a fan of Belize education myself but there are private schools and some people home school.

I am sure Wealthships will see your post and answer.

Please visit Belize before you make a decision, please, please.

Re: new member moving to belize

WE are definitely going to spend time there before we move for good, that is why I was asking about rentals, but thanks for your help and wisdom. I think it would be foolish to go and not have spent anytime there, just making a blind decision. I welcome all help!

Re: new member moving to belize

Well I can give you massive help adjusting to Belize.

But bringing pets, since I haven't done it, I do not know.

You see the cat in my profile photo? That is "Puppy.".

Also, I have no kids so I can't give any insight.

If you have other things that you want to ask about please do.

Re: new member moving to belize

Hi Sunhealer! I\'m a Relocation Consultant, so send me a PM or email me at sharonhiebing[at]gmail.com. if you\'d like help with everything from pets to schools to residency to banking, etc. etc. I have a website by the same name as my handle here on the forum if you want to check that out as well.

In regards to volleyball, that\'s not a very popular sport in Belize. I know the schools don\'t offer it. Your daughter may find a random game from time to time on the beach in one of the island and or coastal communities, but the whole time I lived on Ambergris Caye, I can only remember seeing a game one time for an event a local bar was having - not exactly what I think you had in mind for your daughter.

Take care and good luck! Sharon Hiebing

Re: new member moving to belize

Okay Sun healer, this is what I offer you as thoughts. Keeping in mind I live here and have for a while.

If your daughter was a "Jungle Jane", a surfer, or a scorer player, scuba diver I would say yes.

Volleyball,...not happening in Belize.

Now if I had a 16 year old daughter there are only 2 places I would consider. San Pedro or Cayo.

But I would not be in either area with a 16 year old daughter if you have a limited budget.
