Receiving mail from the US

I was just wondering if anybody knew of the best way to recieve mail from the US. My mother sent 2 packages through the regular mail and only 1 made it. Does fedex make it all the way down here? Just wondering if there is maybe a more secure way than regular mail.
Thanks:)

Re: Receiving mail from the US

Hi,

The mail does not really work in mexico, both ways. Fedex is everywhere but it is quite expensive.  I use UPS which is also expensive but cheaper than fedex.  It is a real pain.

Re: Receiving mail from the US

Thanks Garry, I wasn't really sure what the options were. I know that I see DHL everywhere, but as far as I know that company is more for documents, where as I my family always wants to send me things, and I hate for them to waste the money by it not even arriving!!! Thanks:D

Re: Receiving mail from the US

We have had things mailed that didn't ever arrive.  And a couple that did.  Have experimented with USPS, FedEx, and UPS.  There is a MailboxesEtc in town and once a month we get a package (USPS Priority) sent.  It usually costs between $20 and $30 depending on the weight.  And it is just mail.  No items.  Did that once and got hit with an additional $80 fees for a couple books for our kiddos.

Re: Receiving mail from the US

Wanted to share this with you guys since helping friends and family in Mex sometimes seems costly. But now sending gifts to a family member or friend in Mexico at no cost, that I like wink The person in Mexico will receive the gift through there phone, all they have to do is redeem it at the store of choise. Gonna give it a try, this is where I found the info at http://ow.ly/9HS5J

Have a nice day!
