is it difficult for expats to open a bank account in Austria ?
Which documents are required to open a bank account in Austria ?
How long does it take to open it ?
Is there any restriction for expats regarding the services (loans for instance) ?
Which bank would you recommend ?

Hey Julien,
Did anyone answer your question ? Or did you find out yourself? I'm moving to Vienna at the end of the month and will need to open a bank account when I am over there. What requirements did they need to open the bank, Passport proof of address etc or is it a little more complicated?

Hey Peter,
Opening a bank account is very simple. Passport and proof of address. You will also need to give proof of residence which your girlfriend will know already. You need to do that in the first 3 days of arriving. Straightforward as you are a EU citizen you don't need any visa etc..
