Calculating the new property tax

I'm sure a lot of us are asking ourselves how much we are going to have to pay for the new property tax.

There's a useful table on page 9 of this week's Athens News. It says the formula is:

Property surface area x price zone co-efficient x building age co-efficient = property tax.

For price zones (from ΔΕΗ bill) up to 500, the price-zone co-efficient is 3.  For higher price zones the co-efficient rises in bands from 4 to 16.

Looking at page 2 of my last ΔΕΗ bill, the section Τελος Ακινητης Περιουσιας, our price zone (Τιμη Ζωνης) is 146.00.

The building age co-efficient depends on the age of the property, varying from 1.25 for buildings up to 4 years old, down to 1.00 for buildings 26 years old or more.

In which case our property tax will be 180 x 3 x 1.25 = 675 euros.

Collection of the tax will be spread over the next two ΔΕΗ bills.

Does anyone else have any different information?
