Formalities to bring your pet in Lithuania

Hi all,

What are the formalities and paperwork required to bring your pet in Lithuania?

How long do formalities & paperwork usually take in Lithuania?

What are the relevant authorities to contact?

Which vaccines are compulsory? Do your pets have to go in quarantine at their arrival in Lithuania?

Which advice would you give to the ones who would like to move with a dog, a cat or any other pet?

Thanks in advance for participating smile

Re: Formalities to bring your pet in Lithuania

Hi Julien

I am new to the forum and in Lithuania for a few months (Marijampole to be exact).  I have my dog with me and it depends on where you are coming from, if in Europe and have a pet passport then it is no problem as long as the vaccinations are up to date.  Otherwise it gets somewhat more complicated up to quarantine depending on the country.

I was informed by a vet in the UK (they travelled to the baltics with their dogs) to be careful of mosquitos in the baltics as they carry a desease deadly to dogs.  It was recommended to use Advantix every two weeks in the country and monthly in cities checking for ticks regularly and also worm every month.

Matt
