Rent a flat or a house in Tallinn

Finding a place to live is a priority when settling in Tallinn. Your experience will be of a great help for the members who want to settle in Tallinn.

Therefore, we have prepared some questions for you:

Is it hard to find a flat or a house for rent in Tallinn?

How to find a home in Tallinn: classifieds, real estate portals, real estate agencies?

How much is the rental for a house, an apartment?

What are the formalities or the required documents for renting an accommodation?

Which advice would you give?

Thanks in advance for participating!

Well, for the right money, it is not hard to find a good place, especially, because, when you want to rent a place, be ready to cash out cash for 3 month's rent (1 month rent beforehand + 1 month deposit fee and + 1 month of commission fee to real estate agency). And for example, you'll get like 400-500 euros a month in here on good days, so cashing out 300 eur for a small 1 room apt. can be a bit tricky (2 room apt.s rent is about 150-200 eur a month, while you can get a 3 room apt. from 200 to ...).

Best place to find apt.s are from real estate portals, like
http://www.kv.ee/http://www.city24.ee/http://www.ekspresskinnisvara.ee/
I think they can all be browsed in English as well.

For documents, I do not think you need anything special, atleast cannot remember any at this time.

Thanks PlatinumC for your message :)

@Hatzis
You can use the links posted up by PlatinumC to find a flat/house close to EKA(eesti kunstiakadeemia - estonian art academy) which is located in the center of the city near Tallinna Kaubamaja , searching for offers from areas like Kesklinn(Vanalinn,Tatari,Sudalinn etc) and Kristiine. Also you should know that Tallinn is not a very big town .
Good luck!
