About me

American freelance journalist and author Laura Stadler-Jensen relocated to Copenhagen from San Francisco with her Danish husband in 2001. She first traveled to Scandinavia due to an infatuation with Icelandic singer Björk, and later returned to study at the University of Helsinki and to explore Stockholm and Copenhagen. Laura specializes in Scandinavian culture and writes on topics including gastronomy, travel, design, and general business. Her husband, Lasse Fredrik Jensen, is an accomplished chef who provides insight into culinary trends and makes the perfect restaurant review companion. Prior to freelancing, Laura spent more than 10 years as a public relations professional in New York, Boston, Dallas and San Francisco. Laura is author of the Copenhagen and Zealand chapters of the upcoming edition of “Fodor’s Essential Scandinavia,” is the author of the Scandinavian section of "The Beer Book," published by DK Publishing, and writes for publications in the U.S. and Europe.
