Hi there I'm Gigi from the rainy UK and I am considering a [temporary?] move to Guyana, South America. I was born in Brighton and later moved to London for university and work, but I am proudly half Guyanese and now feel more than ready to dive in and explore my heritage. I've visited Guyana a couple of times to visit a seemingly endless list of cousins, extended cousins, aunties and uncles. I was struck by the untouched, OUTSTANDING natural beauty of the country alongside a melange of different cultures and kooky colloquialisms with a distinctly Caribbean vibe. However, I also felt that a few weeks was never really enough time to take it all in and explore all that Guyana has to offer - as well as getting to know my family more. Just like the diversity of the country, I also have a somewhat random mix of professional experiences across the charity/NGO sector with skills in: business, sales and marketing, youth mentoring, people management and a law degree. If I could choose any industry to explore in Guyana, for me it would have to be Eco Tourism. I have to say, I'm currently feeling inspired by this Facebook page - so who knows.... www.facebook.com/gotoguyana Please feel free to contact if you share any of the sentiments above (or know of a good place to start job hunting!) xxx
