I went overseas first as a peace corps volunteer and was posted in Nepal, on the Nepal/Indian border. After three years in Nepal and India, I returned to the US to obtain a MA in International Relations and a MA in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at the United States International University in San Diego, California. I then taught English for 4 years in the Republic of the Marshall Islands and adopted a Pacific Islander baby. I accepted an English Teaching Fellows 1 year grant and trained Chinese teachers on the BA and MA level at Beijing Normal University. After spending a month in Thailand checking out the ESL/ELF job market. I moved to India for six months and traveled extensively and finally met in person my dear Sonam, a Tibetan refugee that I had been sponsoring for many years. After spending a couple of weeks in the Philippines, I returned to the US to teach English in Los Angeles, California, to adults for 3 and half years before moving to Roswell, New Mexico, where I have now resided for 8 years. I am planning to return to teach English to the Tibetan refugees, either in Nepal or India. I volunteered over 200 hours last year at the Roswell Literacy Council to keep my teaching skills fresh. I can hardly wait to return to India and Nepal and feel at home again. Any suggestions, thoughts, or concerns from you will be welcome.

I bought a house for the first time. I have learned a lot about the history of the wild, wild, West. Some of the older folks that I meet here remember meeting Billy the Kid and the Daltons, famous outlaws years ago.
I love the clean air and the open spaces. I love the pioneer attitude and the independent spirit of the local people and I have changed a lot in my political outlook since I moved here.
I miss eating at international food restaurants; all that is here is southwester food (which is different than the Mexican food I was used to in California). I have come to love southwestern food but if it wasn't for the two Thailand restaurants and the sushi place I' go nuts!
