Hi, i have been out of the UK for over 6 months and am just over 7 months pregnant. I am living with my Italian partner in the Monza Brianza province. I don't have any medical insurance and am not entitled to an s2 card as i have been out of the UK for more than 6 months. I do have an EHIC card but have been told i am not covered for the birth of my baby with this. I have rang Newcastle office twice only to be informed that i am no longer covered and my only option is to come back to UK if i don't want to pay for the birth! As i no longer have no longer anywhere to live in UK this is not an option for me. Any advice neither me or my Italian partner are in no position to pay for hefty charges!
