I am American, and I would like to live in Dominican Republic. I am currently in Poughkeepsie new york.

About me

I'm 49yrs old and I live Poughkeepsie, New York. I have traveled all over the world, but most recently I have been visiting the Dominican Republic. My dream is to retire in the Dominican Republic. My job here is no executive position, so I will not retire with big bucks. I have concidered supplimenting my income there by teaching English, or opening a small social lounge or Bodega. I have a about 6 yrs until retirement, so I'm doing my homework now. I welcome any advice or direction I may get towards planning my future. Thank you

My occupation:

Currently I work as a case manager for my counties probation department. I'm also very skilled in automotive repair and home maintenance

What I like about this destination:

The Hudson Valley of New York is a beautiful area of the state. There is much to do and see here and it's a great place to raise a family.

What I don't like about this destination:

I have lived her all my life. Although I have lived in other states and countries in my life, I'm ready for a change. Now that I am older, I don't enjoy the cold weather the same as when I was a kid.

I am currently living in the USA

My life & projects in this location:

I travel to Santo Domingo often, but I have visited several other cities. My wife is Dominicana and my plan is to move there when I retire. I also made several expat friends during my visits. Several years ago I visited there on a humanitarian trip to Tres Rios.
