I was in Denmark in 2010 to learn Danish, and have passed my Level 2 exams. I'm back in the States, but hope to go abroad again, this time longer term...

Expat experience
I grew up in New York City, but have occasionally lived elsewhere. This is the just the latest period of time that I lived continuously in New York.
the most culturally diverse city in the world.
hot humid summer days, disjointed and relatively inefficient public transportation, that it is still part of the United States, and not an independent city-state, as it should be...
I attended a folkehøjskole to learn Danish, and just passed the Danish Level 2 Exams.
probably the most scenic part of Denmark; and here, they actually pay you a "living wage" (unlike the USA). what a concept!
too far to walk to town; too expensive to ride the bus all the time.
