I moved to Bulgaria to start a new life with my new lady, who is Bulgarian, in May 2013. For many years I was a Licensed London Taxi driver, Tour Guide and freelance writer (at times). I am now concentrating on expanding my writing websites and I am putting a photo book together about Nonsuch Park which is in Surrey, England. Apart from my Bulgaria blog, I have several other sites which can be found listed on www.spiritoftravel.weebly.com. I also have a flickr account where I post photos. My name there is bulgariatravel. I am intending relating my experiences/sharing my photos about life here in Bulgaria for anyone that may be interested who already lives here, who might be considering moving here, or who just might be looking to see what happens when someone makes the major decision to emigrate: those who only emigrate mentally from their armchairs. From the first time I arrived in Bulgaria for a visit in 2011 I felt I had discovered a new country, when really since then I realise that I have arrived in a country that, notwithstanding its faults and economic troubles, still possesses not only its own identity, but human community in day to day life. I have found that the UK lost all this many years ago and I find it refreshing to rediscover these values here.
I joined expat.com on 04 March 2013.
