I am a lifelong Kiwi, who in a spur of the moment decision submitted my wife's CV for a job in Moscow one June Sunday, by the following Friday she had the job. We have since left our 8Ha farmlet with no neighbours, 360 degree views and complete peace and quiet, for a fourth floor apartment in Moscow. Our kids have had to get used to going from a limitless outdoor playground to nothing. We know no Russian, so are like aliens having been dropped to earth for the first time, it is an adventure, it is challenging, but we are enjoying it and will write about our time here, what we get up to, what its like and where to hunt out the cheap stuff to do. Unfortunately after 6 months my wife was laid off due to financial difficulties at the pre-school so we have moved on to Helsinki, Finland where my brother lives and have managed to pick up a consulting position here for the next 3 months before we head off to Japan for our next lifestyle change.
