My husband and I live in Calmar, Alberta, Canada. We started researching Belize, CA in the spring of 2007 and have been in love with the country ever since. We settled on Corozal, Belize and have been down there every year since 2007. We bought a humble home in Ranchito Village and also have a corner piece of property on the very Northern Edge of Corozal Town by Manatee Bay and Mangrove Park. Our ultimate goal is to be there for approximately 6 months of the year while it's winter in Alberta, Canada. We are looking at becoming residents in the future as well. We have made alot of friends in Corozal, especially with the locals and absolutely love it there. We are going down again on November 27th/12 at least until the end of March/13. I am a recently retired Registered Nurse and my husband is a semi-retired welder, QC and safety rep. We have 4 grown children and 7 grandbabies and feel that it's time to get rid of the aches and pains and stresses of our Alberta winters and come to our second home in Corozal, Belize. We are also considering our options for either starting a new business venture or taking over an existing one in Corozal, Belize in the near future. We have a Belizean family who takes care of and rents our humble home in Ranchito Village while we are in Alberta, Canada. When we come to Corozal we stay with them and they have become part of our family and we love them dearly. We communicate with them almost daily via internet to see how we are all doing. They teach us all about the local ways of doing things and they are always willing to help in any way they can. We even got married in the back yard of our Ranchito home on March 9th/12 the "Belizean" way with our local friends attending :o)
