Introduction
Hey y'all..from Melbourne, Australia...currently employed in country Victoria in local government but looking to make the giant leap and move to Bali. Been involved in Customer Service for most of life in retail, hospitality, media, and local government. Ideally looking to start by teaching English(any suggestions and advice most welcome!)but ideally looking to start some form of small food based business and/or service/administration based enterprise. Other activities will include record and documenting my experiences through various social medias etc both as a journal but alo as a resource for those interested in doing similar. Ultimately though...my life circumstances have changed dramatically in the last year and I feel it is now time to follow my dreams and do something I have longed to do for many years...something for myself...after all life is what you make it! Time to think big and really live! And for those of you looking to find out about life in Melbourne or Australia in general...drop me a line!

Expat experience
My first trip to Bali...stayed in the stunning area of Seminyak for what was by no means long enough! Typical tourist...but thankfully left the comfort of the tourist traps and met many beautiful local people who introduced me the the joys of local warungs, motorcycle rides to out of the way beaches, and the beautiful simplicity and humbleness of their own lives. I am in love!!
Where to start...just so much to elaborate on. The beaches, the lifestyle, the spirit of the people, the humility, the spirituality, and particularly the food!!
Everything is relative to our own experiences so I can't say there was anything I disliked. I was there with open eyes and an open heart and left my judgements out of it!
Born and brought up in Melbourne, then moved to country Victoria just before my 30th...120 kms from my family. Bought a house and live here permanently...though looking to sell and head overseas in the next few months!
Loved Melbourne but it either got too busy for me...or I slowed down too much for it, so moved to the country for what we call a 'tree change'. Country life has been amazing...but time to move on and live more
Big dislike is the narrowmindedness and small mind mentality of some of the people. Expansive thinking is rare, particularly in the area i live, and the attitudes are very limited.
My life from birth until just before my 30th. Grew up in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne,did all of my schooling there, both primary and secondary, then moved inner city when I started working..first job was in a city based department store..and then stayed for another 13 years.
Melbourne will always be my home...the lifestyle, the culture, the food, the laneway bars, the coffee, the fashion, the colour, the parks, the people!
Everything has its dark side...but it adds to the depth of the appeal!
