Introduction
I believe I'm one of the few Americans (or more specifically, United Statesens) living full time and forever in Madrid. My work brings me to Madrid after working in the same Madrid/Spain Tourism sector since 1995 in Columbus, Ohio before moving to Madrid in 2005.

Expat experience
I live mainly as a tourist on a daily basis, discovering new things about Madrid, taking photos, meeting people, trying bars and restaurants and sharing it with the masses through my blog, message board, and other social media outlets.
Incredible food, wine, history, and life in the streets. Beautiful architecture, fashion, and monuments. Wonderful weather 9-months of the year. A very dry, arid climate, which is nice.
The summers are too hot for me, but they only last 3-months.
Born and raised in Ohio, graduated from The Ohio State University in 1989 with a degree in Geology.
Early opening hours and late closing hours. 24-hour supermarkets. Ohio autumns are beautiful and the weather, in general, are all well represented. I love the winter snow.
Summer humidity can be a bit much.
