I am American, and I would like to live in Panama. I am currently in Knoxville Tennessee.

About me

We are going to become ExPats within the next year, considering a move to Panama, and are seeking advice and information. We have been to Costa Rica and loved it, but it has gotten expensive. Our favorite place is the Yucantan (Rivera Maya) in Mexico, however we dont feel it is safe anymore. It seems that Panama has a lot to offer healthy active seniors, we are early 60s. So far I think we would be interested in Altos del Maria/El Valle or up around David/Boquette. We live on a large lake near the mountains in Tennessee, although we like to go to the beach, we don't want to live there. We both love to cook and entertain at home and are very comfortable with other cultures, although my spanish is quite awful (southern accent considered so is my english). I do understand most of what is said and can read pretty well too. Would love the opportunity to go to a spanish school! We are planning a 2 week visit in November flying into Panama City for 1 1 week tour of area in south then up to David for a week of exploration. Any suggestions will be appreciated! We are not city people but would like a SuperMercado within 30-45 minutes and medical facilities too. We are owned by a 10 year old German Shepherd Dog, and will be importing a puppy after we get settled, so a really good vet facility close by will be necessary. Thanks for any assistance.
