I am not yet an expatriate, but I am looking for information about life abroad.

I am American, and I would like to live in Greece. I am currently in Los Angeles.

About me

Firstly, I'm a female, not a "he."  I'm originally from London, UK, but have been in California for 20 years.  I lived in Greece for 5 years and I've a pretty good command of the language.  I'm looking to move back to Greece to teach English and am currently studying to take the Cambridge TKT course.  I'm a very youhful 53 and I'm looking to possibly start teaching in an institute and supplement it with private lessons.  I'm wondering whether seeking employment with an institute is even feasible considering my age.  They might not want to provide benefits to someone of my age.  It's a concern, but I'm due for a major change and am resolved to find a way to make this happen.  Would you know whether this is a valid concern?  I was relieved to find someone on the blog who wasn't a 20-something! Anyway, I'd be interested in any feedback you might have to offer. How nice to be in Paris!
