I am the female half an ordinary couple in our mid fifties, an ex-librarian married to an ex-biologist since 1972! Currently living in Italy. After gradually moving up the property ladder, we eventually purchased our dream home in the Surrey countryside. We spent 20 years there bringing up our daughters, one 29(surveyor) one 25(nursery nurse). Then as empty nesters we decided it was once more time for us. We have always had a love of Italy and connections for many years. A family holiday home in the south, honeymoon and many other holidays, including Sardinia, friends here etc. So it was an easy decision, this was where we wanted to be. It was a long process but we eventually sold our home in England, put our possessions into storage and came out here Spring 2004. Having done a lot of prior research, Italy Magazine, Forums, Property websites etc, we decided on the area we wanted to live in. The lake district of Northern Lazio, a beautiful and diverse region, lakes, mountains, sea and cities all within easy reach. We love the way of life and feel very lucky to be here!
