Hello. My daughter is a returned Peace Corps volunteer who served in Cameroon for 2 years. She loved her time there and has been back a couple of times to visit people she grew close to. Her intention is to eventually move back to Cameroon full time. I am approaching retirement and will have to live on a limited fixed income. My daughter suggested that I rent a house and spend several months of each year in Cameroon as it is quite affordable to live there. Since I've never been there I am trying to find out as much as I can before committing to over for an extended period of time- especially since I do not speak French. I'm wondering how affordable housing really is, how available is good health care, and how to other expats deal with the fact they may be quite far from family. These are some of the issues I'd like to explore here.
