Introduction

I'm actually here in NZ with my Filipina partner. We plan to retire in the Philippines and I have noted some of the comments on here about it. See what happens at the time. I'm working as a frame & truss builder. My partner is an assistant baker (for now) in a Supermarket. But looking to move on to something she is more into.

I joined expat.com on 04 April 2012.

Expat experience

Since May 1972

Christchurch, Philippines

Arrived in Chch from Kenya at 15. Went to school here. Raised a family,2 kids and now 5 grandkids, divorced after 15 yrs.Had many jobs over time. Saw mill, factories,truckie, tower cranes, IT,furniture maker. Starting out on my own making furniture.

Chch is a nice medium sized English style city. I've spent most of my life here now. So its been home.

But... never been that happy or settled. After my divorce I visited the Philippines and felt really at home there. Reminded me so much of my childhood in Kenya. Its great.

I am currently living here
