About me
Moved out to SW France June 2008, re-arranging our lives and having a crackingly good time. I am psychically well endowed, a fledgling writer, an apprentice smallholder, a novice at French language and probably always will be, skilled at caravan living, seriously earnest about living life in SW France.
My birthday is on 12 April, I was born in 1947

My blog
Snippets from our smallholding in SW France: Labartere
Describing our adventures and experiences as we cope with: learning to be self sufficient, trying to speak at least two French words in a row with the local people, remaining patient with the process of trying to rescue our ruin of a home, and generally adapting to a completely different lifestyle to the one we had in the UK. Which includes having no shower, no loo (porta-potties being great stand-ins, or should it be 'sit-ons'!), water from a hosepipe, and loads of extension leads rolling round the place for our electrical supplies to our caravan. It's a great life! And well worth the effort of relocating.

My path
France
Haute Pyrenees
I am currently living in France since June 2008
My life & projects in this location:
Me and my husband are currently rescuing our house from its ruinous state, living in caravans meanwhile. We have six hectares of land and plan to farm that in the future. When the house is finished, it is hoped that we will be able to open it as a holistic healing retreat, offering self sufficiency help and advice as well.
My occupation:
I am a writer, going along the self publishing route at the moment. I am also a medium and healer, but resting with those two occupations and concentrating on writing at this time.
What I like about this destination:
An Internet search brought us in contact with this house and land. Or rather, the house decided that she wanted us to be her new owners! Ultimately, we didn't really have any choice but to purchase her! We have the Adour river on one side, and can see the Pyrenees occasionally. We are not remote, having local facilities within fifteen minutes drive. But it is still a rural location, and quiet for most of the time, apart from when the French airforce want to play about in the skies above our head!
What I don't like about this destination:
There is absolutely nothing which is disagreeable with this destination. It is where we are meant to be.
