I am not yet an expatriate, but I am looking for information about life abroad.

I am American, and I would like to live in Peru. I am currently in San Francisco.

About me

I'm eligible to retire from the govt, but can work several more years, and am thinking of the Philippines, Peru, Chile. I will be living on a fixed modest pension of about 50k/yr.  I have advanced-beginner spanish fluency, and can slowly become fluent with practice and exposure.  I'm educated, divorced, 50s, former athlete but non-athletic now, but am trying to reverse that.  I'm interested in exploring part-time employment in my new country. I have strong english lanugage skills, both spoken and written, and have some non-certified adult teaching experience   I'm laid back, good conversationalist, can be shy and solitary, but prefer the company of friends. I'm good with people, but not an entrepreneurial type. I'm ethical and detest hustlers.
