My life & projects in this location:

I was married in Leeds and my son started school here.

My occupation:

I didn't work a lot - I was a relief library assistant so worked at headingley library when I was called upon. But mostly I was a mum who spent her days swimming until school got out.

What I liked about this destination:

Has all the class and nightlife of London but is much cheaer. Still can be pricey, but it is possible to avoid it.

What I didn't like about this destination:

The people can be a little unfriendly and suspicious of foreigners - no fellow parent spoke to me at all for the whole of my son's first year of school. They later admitted they were suspicious of someone who would choose to leave sunny Perth for Yorkshire!

My life & projects in this location:

I was here doing the usual Aussie thin gof working in bars and sandwich shops then travelling when I could.

My occupation:

bar staff, coffee shop waitress, office clerk, receptionist - you name it, I did it.

What I liked about this destination:

So much to do - lots of theatre, nightlife, great restaurants and so many people to meet from all over the globe.

What I didn't like about this destination:

It is very, very expensive. There's no avoiding cost in London.
