I am Dutch, and I am now living in China. I am currently in Wuhu.

About me

I was born in Amsterdam, and grew up in Enkhuizen, a small city in The Netherlands about one hour north of Amsterdam. Graduated from University of Amsterdam in 2008, but I will most likely go back to this university to obtain a master degree, somewhere in the future. During my time at university I spend one term in London, which was a great experience, and which has changed my view on the world a bit. If I hadn’t gone there I would probably not be in China at the moment and you would not be reading this today.
My biggest passions are football and travelling, apart from that I like to do other things too, but I won’t count them as hobbies. Although some Chinese disagree, but well some Chinese count sleeping as a hobby too. At the moment I’m teaching English in Wuhu, which is sometimes quite fun and easy, and on other times boring and tiring. I’m also learning Chinese here, which goes with its ups and downs. Sometimes I feel like I’m able to speak it a bit and sometimes I feel like I’m not able speak one word of it. I’m writing this blog to inform friends, family and everyone who’s interested about my thoughts far away from home.
