I'm from the U.S. I've spent much of the last 7 years living and teaching in Vietnam (ESL and English composition). I also briefly lived in France. I'm not thrilled with American culture or the American Empire, and I'd really like to find a quiet, clean, peaceful location that hasn't been despoiled of its culture, natural resources and beauty. It's also important that people treat each other decently. I have a wife and a toddler, so having a good school and access to a full hospital is important. We have enough money to buy property, though we would have to rent for at least a year first (to make sure Vanuatu is the right place for us). I'm not overly concerned about working (my wife and I are largely self-employed), but it would be nice to have the option of teaching ESL or English composition (I have an MA in English Composition and about 5 years of ESL experience, plus some experience teaching university composition).
