I'm a trade-tested Electrician who completed a four-year apprenticeship period in an Iron Mining and Smelting company. I also did a year period at Harare Polytechnical College in 2007. Post-apprenticeship,the company absorbed me and I became an Electrician at the Coke Ovens Department. There I worked a lot with Coke Bunkers and machinery, conveyor belts,tiplers,pumps,pushers,coke-guides,coke-cars,oven chargers, cooling beds, cooling towers, exhausters. I also worked with decanters. When I moved to South Africa,my first job was at Actom where I was an Project Electrician in the Tenasol Unit Project - which they produced hi-tech MV transformer units with UPS,Computer Box,Computer Monitor,SCADA Box among other morden technology features. I was responsible for wiring panels and then MuLTICORE CABLING. I completed the 50 trial Units which were all successful. However, the project couldn't progress because the Units were too expensive for the market. I then moved to minisubs and panel wiring,MCC Building. Later I joined Conductor Systems where we did MCC building and Panel-wiring encopassing Drives and PLcs. I then went to ACELOMITTAL where they wre relining No5 Blast Furnace. I was the shift electrician in charge of DBs,repairing and maintenance of power tools, lighting, cranes, hoists and other lifting equipment. I later joined BHPBilliton in Hotazel Manganese Mines - there I did the HIRA level 2 course. I worked underground in the Manganese mine and it was a brief shutdown. I joined Unilever on a new site where we raked cables, ran them and connected machine panels.
