The Migran't Daughter
The Migran't DaughterI am an expatriate.
I am English, and I am now living in Canada. I am currently in Vancouver.
At 27, I wonít pretend to be old or wise enough to say Iíve got it all figured out. In fact, I donít think that day will ever come, but what I have learnt is that no matter how difficult things can seem the trick is to find a little joy in each of lifeís challenges. No one has ever said that following your heart is easy, but when you are being true to yourself and to those around you, the world has a way of giving you a helping hand. I met a girl on a beach in Rio who once said to me, ďAt first the world whispers to you what you need to do, and then it says it a little louder. If you still donít listen then it shouts it at you, all you have to do is listenĒ. I have to be honest, at first I thought this girl had been in the sun for too long, but over the next few months things unfolded in a way which made those words echo inside me, and once Iíd Ďtuned iní to the world, things began to fall into place in the most magical way! It hasnít all been a bed of roses since then, but I can honestly say, for all the lessons that Iíve learnt and the joy that Iíve felt, I have loved every second of my journey through first the Middle East and now Canada.
