About me

My husband and I recently retired to Cuenca, Ecuador after doing an exhaustive research on the best places to retire. As a writer, I was contracted to do an article on the top five places in the world to retire and Cuenca, Ecuador came up as number one. My husband visited in February of 2010 and we made the move on June 4, 2010. In one month, we sold our home, gave away or donated all our earthly possessions, married a son, and completed a book deadline (three days ahead of time!). We arrived in Ecuador with four suitcases and a map of Cuenca. We have not regretted our decision and look forward to the adventures that await us. We are considered the "babies" of the retired expats, but we thought we might as well get a head start. Having left the state of Pennsylvania where we raised our two sons and having a career as writer and author of three books, I thought maybe I might find something else to write about in Ecuador. I was right...every day is an adventure. I look forward to sharing our new life in Cuenca with others!
