Expat experience
We're just getting settled in as of this writing. We found our place to live and three days later the kids were in school. My wife has many talents & her culinary skill got her a job nearby. I'm still looking as I make my way in the music communities. So far the experience has been very positive!
Being up close to living history. The forwardness and curiosity of the people I've met. The scenery & natural beauty. The world class musicians and traditions. A slower pace.
Not apparent that music outside traditional Irish music (not my strength) has a lot of support. The slower pace (sometimes you wonder if your messages will be answered). The sideways rain can be a challenge. Feeling like an outsider (I migrated, what would I expect?)
