Introduction

Hi there! I'm Kate. I moved to Kenya in June 2014 from London, UK. I'm learning about my Kenyan heritage and culture. I previously lived in Zambia. I enjoy meeting new people and adventure.

I joined expat.com on 22 August 2014.

I can speak English, French, a little Bemba. Learning Swahili.
Interests making music, reading, hiking, getting to know new people, trying new cuisines, geeking out.

Expat experience

Since 2014

Nairobi, Kenya

The people are mostly friendly. The culture is diverse. The life is fast-paced (in the city anyway) and the weather is pretty good :D

The dust. The bad roads. The bad/aggressive drivers (matatus & bodabodas). The traffic jams *everywhere*

Lusaka, Zambia

The people are mostly friendly. Diversity in the capital city. The main roads are good. There are some amazing sites to visit. Peaceful country.

Actually, some Zambians are extremely xenophobic. Cost of living is higher than other countries, unreliable internet providers.
