I am from Dubai, where I lived and worked for many years. I had a long and interesting career in Public Relations and Marketing, which allowed me to travel the MENA region. More recently, I have been working in 'Development' in Afghanistan, and I recently finished my last Afghan work contract. I will shortly be moving to Sierra Leone in West Africa with my husband, so Im looking for contacts and potential work options in that region.
I joined expat.com on 25 June 2010.

I was the marketing manager for a real estate developer. We were developing 4 major mixed use projects, together with Government partners. I handled all marcoms for the projects, and worked to establish a dedicated property sales centre. The projects have come to a halt since the revolution in Libya.
Everything in Libya was always an adventure! Wandering around in the area of old Tripoli and visiting the ancient Roman ruins was great. On weekends, I discovered stunning seaside, un-developed locations, and I had a great horse while I was there.
lack of sophisticated restaurants, no wine, and lack of entertainment.
I went to the UAE after university study, and for the past 15 years, I have had a successful career in PR and marketing.I have had the luck to travel often and learn all apsects of life, love, and work in the Middle East. I do believe I have had a great number of truly unique and remarkable experiences in the region, and its my hope to one day write and publish a semi-fictional book about some of my experiences there. I consider Dubai my home, and will return to live there one day soon. I have also been involved in the horse industry in the UAE, and am an experienced endurance rider. I still maintain a small jewellery design business there, and hope to expand upon this in due course.
the sea, the desert, the horses, and the fun times that Dubai offers!
Its artificial nature, and lack of natural places to go - also hate the intense heat of the summer months.

the sea, the desert, the horses - and great restaurants and night life, shopping and friends
Its a mostly artificial environment with a shortage of weekend get-aways other then 5 star hotels. I found the inhumanly hot summers hard to take.
