I am an expat
|Currently living in India, Mumbai|
|I come from Japan|
I am originally from Tokyo, Japan. I have spent many years in Tokyo growing up, but my family also spent a few years in Los Angeles, California between my age of 5 and 7. When I was in high school, my family moved to Singapore and I spent 3 years of my high school there. I also spent a year in LA again when I was in college through an exchange program. In the past 7 years, through my husband's job, I have lived in Senegal and Okinawa, Japan. After spending 2 years in Washington, D.C. and 3 years in Jakarta, now we live in an exciting city of India, Mumbai. My husband and I have two girls. I am currently a stay-at-home mom, but also a freelance interpreter and translator. It's hard to keep a career in this very fluid life where I stay in one city for 2 to 3 years while following my husband for his job. I love it and I would not change it for anything else, but it hasn't been easy. I have been thinking about what I can do and what is it that makes me happy. The answer is in my most recent preoccupation, blogging. I feel that I finally found what makes me who I really am and what makes me fulfilled and feel proud of and enjoy the job as a stay-at-home mom.
