Protecting Environment and Children Everywhere (PEaCE), founded in 1991, is a pioneer NGO in combating Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) in Sri Lanka. PEaCE is engaged in, preventing children from sexual abuse, monitoring the movements of paedophiles, helping victims in court, assisting youth to develop skills to help them secure employment.

PEaCE is looking for young people wanting to gain experience, in Rights of the Child, build practical abilities and activism, in documentation and information sharing experience, and carry out research for academic performance. Young university graduates looking for career opportunity with relevant qualifications are encouraged to apply.



Project Officer (Information)

Accrue information from the programme staff, area coordinators, write and edit reports, newsletters, updates, bulletins and other publications of the organisation

Develop and maintain an appropriate electronic data base on CSEC, that supports the needs of the organisation and agencies or individuals looking for such information

Maintain and update the organisation’s website regularly with the current information (at least once a month)

Respond to enquirers' requests on subjects related to the organisation, using electronic and printed resources; and

Produce publicity material for demonstrations and presentations, resource material such as power point presentation, leaflet, newsletters and information bulletin.



Qualifications

• Recently passed out university graduate, lawyer or law student;

• Excellent command of written and spoken English and Sinhala/Tamil;

• Commitment to the Rights of the Child;

• Ability to work independently using his/her own initiative within the scope of responsibilities;

• Ability to work easily with other cultures in difficult circumstances;

• Able to demonstrate excellent computer skills, update website and blog; and

• Able to work both independently and in a team-oriented collaborative environment is essential.
