In order to find a job in New Zealand, read ads in newspapers (the New Zealand Herald, The Dominion Post or The Press), send prospective applications to the companies you are interested in, ask your friends or acquaintances around and browse the Internet. Search engines will give you many links and addresses of sites dedicated to employment in New Zealand.
You can also submit your CV to staffing agencies in New Zealand. Main international staffing agencies are established in the country. Apart from offering job listings, they will give you advice about how to write your CV according to local standards. You can also perform skills assessments and participate to job search workshops.
The New Zealand Immigration website has released a booklet for new immigrants. You will find information about employment in New Zealand as well as tips and advice to get prepared to face the local labor market. The booklet is available at http://www.nz-immigration.co.nz/.
Good to know:
A very good level of English is required to work in New Zealand. However, New Zealanders are pragmatic people and they will see your potential regardless of your language skills.
IMPORTANT:
The first thing to do upon arrival is applying for an identification number (IRD) to the Inland Revenue. The IRD is essential to get a job or benefit from social programmes in the country. To apply for an IRD, visit the Inland Revenue website at http://www.ird.govt.nz/how-to/irdnumbers/.

Find a job in New from abroad:
If you intend to get a work visa in New Zealand, you need first to get a work contract or a valid job offer from a local employer (see "section “Work visas in New Zealand"). It is still quite difficult to find a job in New Zealand from abroad. You can visit several websites such as the EEI, Monster or career job and get some information about the local labor market through the business council of your country in New Zealand. Do not hesitate to submit your CV online to recruiting agencies or send prospective applications to international companies implanted in the country.
