Find an accommodation in Dubai

Finding a house or an appartment to rent in Dubai could be quite difficult because of the ever growing demand and the constant rise in prices.

To find a house or an apartment to rent in Dubai, the best approach is to visit a serious real estate agency. Check classified ads in the papers or check with your company, with your colleagues or with your local “network”.

Most of times, apartments are not furnished. Air conditionning systems are highly recommended due to high temperatures in the area. Most leases and rental agreements are generally one year in length and renewable; you can opt for a shorter lease resulting in a more expensive monthly rent. Water and electricity are usually to be paid separately from the rent. A deposit varying from 5,000 to 10,000 DHS is compulsory, either paid by the tenant or his sponsor to cope for the possible damage or disrepair. Note that you must provide a finder's fee to the real estate agency. Local taxes apply calculated on the annual rent at a rate of 5 %. Facilities maintenance fees are included in the rent.

Good to know:

It is important to have your property insured against flood damage or fire damage. An insurance is not compulsory, but you will be covered in case of problem. A civil liability insurance is also higly recommended.
