Buying a property in Mauritius

It is unfortunately impossible to buy a property in Mauritius without holding a permanent residence permit.

However you can buy a property without holding a permanent residence permit through the IRS programme (Integrated Resort Scheme) introduced in 2002 by the Government of Mauritius. This programme is aimed at wealthy individuals and companies wanting to buy luxury villas in the island. To qualify for the IRS, the property''s investment value must be of at least US $ 500,000 and located in a residence approved by the B.O.I.
