Making sure our kids never want to get too comfortable. Details: My husband and I are two Americans who want our kids to grow up experiencing other cultures and landscapes, to speak multiple languages and extend their comfort zone way beyond what a typical life and education in the U.S. can offer. After years of International Schools and language lessons, we%u2019ve decided that the best way to offer our children a global perspective is to get out and live it. It is my philosophy that happiness doesn't come from making oneself as comfortable as possible, but from the challenge of overcoming the uncomfortable. This blog is meant to document our experiences as our comfort zones constantly change sometimes by choice and sometimes unexpectedly. Along with our triumphs and struggles, I hope to include practical information for anyone thinking about breaking out on their own adventure. I've found that the hardest comfort to leave behind is our family and friends, so please come along with us in spirit. Share our experiences vicariously!

Amusing stories about a young woman who moves to France to help her sister renovate her cottage. A personal and honest view of the feelings rollercoaster experienced when faced with the elements, solitude, the French and broken bones.

This site details my simple life in Brittany and the things that are really important to me - such as cooking, eating, reading and enjoying the beautiful countryside and the people who live here. Whilst this site is certainly not intended to be a definitive guide to living in France (it's more of an explanation of how and why I choose to live here), you may find information here that aids you in your life (whether you are living here now, or planning to move over), or for your holidays in this beautiful part of France where I have chosen to make my home.
