Hi. I'm Jason. I'm from Kansas City, Kansas. I'm married with two kids in Japan. My wife is Japanese and I've been living here for nearly 10 years. I teach English.I can tell you anything you want to know about life in Japan. I also used to be a Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay as an environmental education volunteer. Stay a while. Pull up a chair, relax with a cup of tea and enjoy a nice read about Japan, Godzilla, and everything.

Inaka Weekends   American in Japan
Did you know that 81% of Japan's land mass is covered with either forests or farms? While the Japanese word Inaka (meaning countryside, rural area, the sticks) doesn't mandate any strict guidelines on population size, distance from Tokyo, soil quality, etc., I do try to avoid concrete and squishy trains in my explorations into Inaka. To make Inaka as accessible as possible, I've tried to include helpful Japanese phrases and English website links. I can't promise inner peace, but hopefully these day- or weekend-long adventures will make Monday morning more bearable.
