We are a couple from San Diego CA who moved to Montevideo Uruguay with our young daughter May 2009. We are expecting another baby in February 2010, and yes we're having our baby here. While we are exploring Uruguay we figured, why not share our adventures, trials and everything we are learning with the rest of the world through our blog and website. Henry Barry: I have never joined a blog before, so please forgive me if I should not have written to Barry here. Mr. Barry, do you rent your place on the Rambla? I am thinking of moving to Montevideo in a few years. Would you ever consider moving to Montevideo, or do you prefer just to visit?

I am an American also moving to Uruguay. I am presently in the states- Cape Cod. I have a place on the Rambla in Montevideo and will be returning there in October-November.

I will be reading your blog. Good insight into living in Uruguay.

We're also Californians and we'd like to leave the US. did your job take you to Montevideo or did you choose that location for personal reasons? It seems Uruguay is well thought of but we know nobody there and only what the web tells us. How about you?
