My fiancee and I are planning to move to Honduras--or at least Central America--by this fall. We live in the Palouse Region of Eastern Washington State. I am an advertising copywriter and creative director but plan to quit my job and go freelance from Central America. Our goal is a adopt a very simple lifestyle, remaining mobile as much as possible to that we can travel when whenever we get the bug. Tela, Honduras and Livingston, Guatemala, are tops on our list of locations at the moment. I also have a blog chronicling the process of extricating myself from the First World at johnbrighton.wordpress.com

The beach scene Posted on 10/10/2012

The biggest knock on this place, at least from my point of view, is the beach.  It’s not great right here in Loreto.  Of course, as one property management lady put it,...   Read more

Greetings from Baja California Sur Posted on 09/10/2012

I wish I had a better excuse for not writing more lately, but the fact is I just kind of lost the rhythm for a few weeks. That being said, I’m back and with stories to tell. Diana and...   Read more
